I am turning myself in, I am a DISSENTER. There is NO way I can believe that any of the present bills for Medical Reform will benefit our Country.
I truly believe that our present system does need to be reformed. However, it is the PART and not the SUM that needs reforming. Start with Tort Reform and fraud in both Medicaid and Medicare. You will see that these reforms will almost pay for want you say you want to achieve for all American Citizens. (only American Citizens, that have paid into the system if course).
When you take from those that have and give to those who don’t, you are cheating both..
I am a Senior Citizen and I truly fear that my life and worth have been discounted like a bargain basement item. After both working and paying into the system, I now can look forward to having some Government assigned Czar extol the virtues of “End of Life Decisions”. If I should die PREMATURELY because of lack of care of medicines, I feel the only one of the two of us who will make out is the Government.
Our current system is certainly not perfect, however, there are many who come to our Country because they cannot get timely medical treatment, surgery or medications. They come from countries that reflect the designs YOU have for us. What will happen to our medical researchers? They have advanced life and you will be shortening it because we will not be able to have the things we need. Further medical research will be questionable to say the least.
Of course when I say US I have to discount Senators, Congressmen and Presidents. (don’t forget GM Union Contracts). You all have that cushion no matter what happens. You will continue to have your Cadillac Medical Insurance for you and your families, which WE will pay for in TAXES. Your response will probably be that was voted into effect years ago. WELL GUYS, I HAVE NEW FOR YOU, SO WAS MEDICARE AND MEDICADE. If this CHANGE IS GOOD enough for US it should be GOOD enough for YOU as well.
In voting for change, the folks forgot to ask what and how you intended to bring about change. I guess next is Social Security, after all, the” Baby Boomers” are coming and that will be the next 20% part of the National Deficit Budget that needs fixing. But of course we do have the End of Life Czar to see them through.
Most Sincerely,
Rosalind Schwartz
